Devine Carama is an Emmy Award-winning hip hop & spoken word artist from Lexington, KY. He has worked with or opened up for acts such as Rakim, Big KRIT, J. Cole, Talib Kweli, Nappy Roots, LL Cool J, Black Eyed Peas, Canibus, De La Soul, & Little Brother. His music has been covered in major music publications like The Source, Vibe, & Complex Magazine. Lyrics & Leadership: Hip Hop & Community Engagement Workshop
Hip hop is the world's most streamed genre of music and the most influential art form for today's youth. Our goal is to try and harness that power and then use it as an incentive based source of inspiration to help our youth become better students and more engaged members of their community. Devine Carama has successfully facilitated our workshop at William Wells Brown Elementary School, Booker T. Washington Elementary, The Carnegie Center's "Camp Carnegie, Picadome Elementary, Winburn Summer Camp, and more. Hip hop artist, Devine Carama, has inspired over 250,000 students across the country through motivational presentations featuring topics ranging from leadership, legacy, power of words, bullying, diversity, inclusion, and more. He's successfully presented his message nationally at various youth detention centers, churches, elementary, middle schools, high schools, and college campuses around the country, including the statewide AmeriCorp training in WV, Community Leadership Development conference in Montana, the Annual Mentoring Day in Chicago and several schools in Kentucky and North Carolina.
